Arunga Park Speedway is Alice Springsβ home of dirt-track speedway action β a family-friendly, motorsport-mad venue with a proud Central Australian history. Founded in 1965, the speedway has been part of the Alice Springs racing community for more than 50 years.
The current Arunga Park track is a 402 metre clay and decomposed granite oval, located on Herbert Heritage Drive in Alice Springs. Construction of the track, concrete wall and lighting began in 1972, with the venue officially opening to the public on 23 April 1973.
ποΈ Whether you are a lifelong petrol head, a weekend motorsport fan, a family looking for something different to do, or a thrill seeker chasing the sound, dust and excitement of live racing, Arunga Park Speedway offers a great night out in the Red Centre.
ποΈ Spectators of all ages are welcome. Facilities include grandstand viewing, snacks and drinks, and convenient trackside parking. Bring the family, cheer on the drivers, enjoy the atmosphere, and experience the excitement of speedway under lights.
π οΈ Want to do more than watch? Speedway is also a hands-on community sport. If you have ever thought about getting involved as a driver, rider, crew member, volunteer, official, sponsor or supporter, come out to the track and talk to the club. It is a great way to meet local motorsport people and learn how speedway works from the inside.
